About my Workshops

I am inspired by working creatively in counselling and am constantly blown away by the way that creative interventions help bring insight and opportunity for change, both in my own life and in the lives of those that I have the privilege to work with.  I love sharing these skills and encouraging therapists to experience the power of them in their own lives, alongside building confidence to work safely and competently with creativity in the counselling space.

Be inspired by this interactive and experiential 2.5-hour workshop which will equip you to support clients, both in person and online in exploring their unconscious processes, helping them to understand how they view the world, the influences that have shaped them and their key scripts as well as exploring possibilities for change. You will learn why Fairy Tales are such a powerful way of working with clients, when it is appropriate to use them and how to facilitate clients working safely in this way.

Creativity & Me

My journey with creativity in counselling began in my own personal therapy way back in 2002 after completing my counselling training.  This experience had such a profound impact on me; transforming my understanding of who I was that it shaped the style of counsellor I was to become.  Having originally trained in a predominately Cognitive Behavioural based theory I went on to do many hours of professional development training with Pauline Andrew of Deep Release, a counselling training organisation that has trained therapists to work creatively for many years. I continue to play an active role in Deep Release and am one of their registered therapists. I completed a level 5 certificate in Integrating Creative Interventions in Counselling in 2019 consolidating the work that I had done over the years.  Having embraced working online in March 2020, I undertook the Counselling Tutor Online and Telephone Counselling course, followed by Tamara Howell’s extensive ‘Learn to Love Online Therapy’ course, where I learned to love online work and my belief and confidence in working safely and creatively online grew exponentially.
